General Class Information for 2024/2025 Fall Classes 

All classes EXCEPT Open Adult Division Classes are now closed for the remainder of our 23/24 school year. 

We welcome you to Ballet Spartanburg. A center for dance education that is more than just ballet. A center that is a higher standard. A center that offers quality dance education.
This fall, we are excited to offer new classes and instructors. Please note that we may have classes that are at capacity. We can place your student on a waiting list for any particular class.
As of June 16th 2021, the Chapman Cultural Center and Ballet Spartanburg do not mandate the wearing of a mask for inside activities. We will continue monitoring the advice/requirements of the CDC.

Fall 2024 classes will begin on Monday, August 19, 2024.

  • Faculty and schedule are subject to change due to enrollment.
  • A minimum enrollment of 5 full paying students is required for a class to be maintained.
  • All registration forms must be completed and turned in to the Ballet Spartanburg office before a student may attend class.
  • Students are assigned classes and instructors upon approval of Ballet Master, Lona Gomez.
  • Classes/dance education are closed classes. Parent Observation weeks/dates are noted on Dance Calendar.
  • Students who graduate from High School are required to take Adult Classes.
  • To withdraw a student, complete the withdrawal form, and submit to the Ballet Spartanburg office. A withdrawal form must be submitted within one month of a student no longer attending classes to ensure a refund. Please note that we will adhere to this policy.
  • INCLEMENT Weather. Please note that we follow the openings/closings of the Chapman Cultural Center. We will try our very best to notify you of any changes due to inclement weather via email, Instagram and Facebook. Please check all emails from Ballet Spartanburg carefully.

Open Student Division

The Open Student Division offers optional discipline classes for students interested in Tap/Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Stretch and Strengthen, Tumble and Twirl, Modern, and Irish. They can be taken on their own or in conjunction with ballet classes.

Open Adult Division 2023-2024

Ballet Spartanburg is excited to invite all dancers ages 18+ to enjoy a variety of dance classes as part of our Open/Adult Division. Classes are open to all levels from beginner to advance. Our classes a great way to try dance for the first time, or continue your intermediate/advanced training, while engaging in a fun and rewarding dance environment. We look forward to welcoming you to experience the love of dance. All classes are paid on a monthly based. Please refer to the Adult Registration form for monthly pricing. Carlos Agudelo, 2023 SC Governor's Award for an Individual

Ballet Spartanburg's Artistic Director, Carlos Agudelo, was awarded the South Carolina Governor's Award from the South Carolina Arts Commission on May 23, 2023, at the Chapman Cultural Center. The award was presented by Mr. David Platt, Executive Director of the South Carolina Arts Commission. "We recognize the unparalleled energy, enthusiasm, devotion and love for dance that Carlos has gifted to our community out of his passion for all to experience the arts for the past 32 years. We are overjoyed that Carlos has been recognized by the South Carolina Arts Commission, " Teresa S. Berline, Executive Director. "The South Carolina Arts Commission is an extraordinary organization in our state which promotes and advocates opportunities in the arts which values equality, access, diversity and inclusion. Ballet Spartanburg is honored by the support of the South Carolina Arts Commission and the recognition of Carlos Agudelo."
