Classes and Programming

General Class Information

  • Enrollment begins May 1, 2018
  • Classes for the 2018-2019 year begin August 20, 2018.
  • Faculty and schedule are subject to change 
  • A minimum enrollment of 3-5 full paying students is required for a class to be maintained.
  • All registration forms must be completed and turned in to the Office Manager (ttimmons@spartanarts.com
  • Students are assigned classes and instructors upon approval of Ballet Master, Lona Gomez.
  • Students who graduate from High School are required to take Adult Classes.
  • To withdraw a student, complete withdrawal form, and submit to the Office Manager (ttimmons@spartanarts.com). A withdrawal form must be submitted to ensure a refund.
  • INCLEMENT Weather. Please note that we follow the openings/closings of the Chapman Cultural Center. We will try our very best to notify of any changes due to inclement weather via email and FaceBook.
  • The Sock Basket will be in the lobby on August 15th and 16th to take orders for any danceware needed for the season. Please join us in Studio 4 from 1-6pm to place your order.

Open Adult Division

The Open Adult Division is geared for students 18-80 who wish to start dancing, return to a passion for dance, or are looking for a new form of exercise. All classes are offered on a drop in basis. Class cards are available in increments of 4 or 8 classes and expire at the end of the school year in May. Class offerings are Irish step dance, ballet/pilates, tap, and jazz.
Dance Card: 4 classes ($48) 8 classes ($80)

Adult Ballroom

The Adult Ballroom Classes are taught by Marion Norman. Classes meet on Monday nights in the Ballet Studios from 7:30-8:30pm. Class cards are available in increments of 4 or 8 classes and expire at the end of the school year in May.
Single Dancer Card: 4 classes ($48) 8 classes ($80)
Couple Dance Card: 4 classes ($60) 8 classes ($120)

Ballet Spartanburg Receives 2018
Elizabeth O'Neill Verner Award

Ballet Spartanburg has received the 2018 Elizabeth O'Neill Verner Award. This award is given each year by the South Carolina Arts Commission to recognize exemplary artists and arts organizations for the State of South Carolina. “Each recipient of these Verner Awards is an outstanding ambassador for our state and contributes greatly not just to the arts community, but the overall quality of life.  As the Arts Commission nears completion of its 50th anniversary celebration, we are honored to recognize organizations and individuals who live out the service, commitment and passion that helped the arts here thrive throughout the last half century."
