COPPELIA (October 17, 18 and 19, 2025 at Chapman Cultural Center) This maddening and lighthearted ballet is the delightful tale of the mad inventor, Doctor Coppelius, and the life-like doll he creates. The doll becomes the source of trouble for a village couple, Swanhilda and Frantz, when Frantz mistakes the doll for a real girl! The New York Times describes Coppélia as “a story-ballet done to perfection.” Children are invited to wear Halloween costumes to be a part of the hilarious fun. Directed by Lona Gomez, Artistic Director.
THE NUTCRACKER (December 12, 13 and 14, 2025 at Twichell Auditorium on Converse Campus) For 35 years in Spartanburg, the delightful story of Clara and her adventures on Christmas Eve has been a part of over 90,000 families’ holiday season. This year, we celebrate with new costumes, new choreography, and enchanting surprises, all while partnering with the brilliant music of the Spartanburg Philharmonic (for our fifth season together). This 35th Anniversary Nutcracker is dedicated to Carlos Agudelo, Artistic Director Emeritus.
BALLET, BOURBON & BLUES (February 12, 13 and 14, 2026 at Chapman Cultural Center Ballet Studio) Here is an immersive trifecta you will not want to miss! Audiences will sample selected bourbons while The Company dances to “smooth, fiery, bold, spicy and mellow” musical notes, with choreography from blues artists. Buffalo Trace and other well-known aged whiskey bourbons will be part of the evening. Bubbly and nibbles will also be included. Directed by Lona Gomez, Artistic Director.
GISELLE (March 20, 21 and 22, 2026 at Chapman Cultural Center) This breathtaking ballet includes young love, tragic heartbreak, and a well-known spectacular Act II - with Giselle and the Willies dancing in the iconic graveyard scene. Giselle has all the beautiful elements of a French ballet-hauntingly elegant and exquisite in its choreography. Performed for the first time in Spartanburg and directed by Lona Gomez, Artistic Director.
