Land of Sweets, A Nutcracker Party

ANNUAL LAND OF THE SWEETS, NUTCRACKER PARTY We try to sprinkle "a little MORE magic" on top of our event each year. Attendees will enjoy dancing, face painting, pictures with their favorite Nutcracker characters, a sing-a-long with the Party Girls, and, of course, sweets! Please note: a $50 child's ticket includes one parent. An additional ticket at the "$45 for a child" is for a child only (no additional parents are included in this purchase). Purchasing a table allows ten children and up to ten parents to attend. Children are seated and parents stand and help navigate children to the different activities.

The Nutcracker

A holiday classic for families and the region’s most beloved seasonal tradition, The Nutcracker returns in full splendor. Ballet Spartanburg brings Tchaikovsky’s iconic score to life, performed live by the Spartanburg Philharmonic. From playful mice to the ethereal Sugar Plum Fairy, each scene unfolds through joyful ensemble dancing and richly detailed costumes. The full Company fills the stage with festive energy and technical brilliance. This cherished production continues to delight audiences of all ages with timeless magic and music. En Studio: Vines and Variations

En Studio: Vines & Variations offers an intimate glimpse into the artistry behind the stage. Ballet Spartanburg invites audiences behind the curtain for an up-close view of the Company’s creative heartbeat. Four works by Company dancers highlight bold movement, personal expression, and inventive storytelling. Guests experience each piece in an intimate setting as distinct artistic voices emerge in real time. This immersive evening reveals dance at its most immediate, vibrant, and daring. Seating is extremely limited for this exclusive experience—early reservations are essential.

Momentum

Momentum pushes contemporary ballet to the edge in a bold mixed bill of new and returning works. Ballet Spartanburg presents choreographic voices shaping the future of dance, including Artistic Director Lona Gomez and a world premiere by Benjamin Freemantle. A Balanchine masterpiece and extraordinary new works define this thrilling season finale. Ballet Spartanburg presents a mixed bill pairing celebrated choreographers with rising voices in an unforgettable program. Featured works include Durante Verzola’s inventive choreography alongside works by Julia Antinozzi, showcasing bold musicality and fresh perspective. Balanchine’s Valse-Fantaisie anchors the program as a historic highlight for South Carolina audiences. This culminating evening celebrates artistry, versatility, and imagination in a dazzling final statement. As the season’s grand finale, this performance is expected to reach capacity.
