West African Dance Classes

Ballet Spartanburg is pleased to again offer West African Community Dance classes at no cost to the community - thanks to our generous sponsors! This class is open to anyone who would like to learn about the history of West African Dance, the culture, and the many variations of this art form. Participants will also enjoy movement, exercise, and freedom of spirit and mind. Classes are taught by an exceptional African Dance instructor, Angela Gibson, and accompanied by skilled drummer Hamadi Brown.

Ballet, Bourbon & Blues

Here is an immersive trifecta that you will not want to miss. Audiences will sample selected bourbons while The Company dances to “smooth, fiery, bold, spicy and mellow” musical notes, with music from Blues artists. Buffalo Trace and other well-known aged whiskey bourbons will be part of the evening. Bubbly and nibbles will also be included. All performances are held in our Dance Studio at the Chapman Cultural Center. Directed by Lona Gomez, Artistic Director.

Giselle

This breathtaking ballet includes young love, tragic heartbreak, and a well-known spectacular Act II - with Giselle and the Willies dancing in the iconic graveyard scene. Giselle has all the beautiful elements of a French ballet, hauntingly elegant and exquisite in its choreography. Performances are at the Chapman Cultural Center on Friday and Saturday evening at 7:00 PM, and Sunday matinee at 3:00 PM. Directed by Lona Gomez, Artistic Director.

Clair de Lune - Ballet With Bucko

We will again have a BALL with fun friends in a beautiful setting! Attendees will dress in white this upcoming year and experience an incredible five-course meal created by Cribb's Catering.
