Ballet Spartanburg' s 2019/2020 performance season is exciting, new and offers a ballet for every age and interest. In October, the season begins with The Snow Queen, a Frozen Adventure, based on Hans Christian Anderson’s fairy tale which inspired Disney’s classic, FFROZEN. With dancing snowflakes, a FROZEN castle, this powerful tale of loyalty, forever friendships and the purity of the innocent heart will delight the entire family. In December, Spartanburg’s most beloved Christmas holiday family tradition The Nutcracker will dazzle the audience with new costumes and new choreography filling the hearts of all who fall under the spell of Tchaikovsky’s brilliant Christmas score. In February, experience Embrace 2.14 a  one hour evening with Fredrick Chopin, the poetic musical genius and the exquisite ballet of the Professional Company under the direction of Lona Gomez, Ballet Master and Choreographer. This season, The Write Moves will bring the art of the written word to the stage. In collaboration with Hub City Writer’s Project, this season we will highlight three inspiring books from Spartanburg’s own Hub City Writers Press. The Docs Who Rock, local physicians, will rock the house to support the Safe Home Rape Crisis Coalition. In April, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Shakespeare’s most famous, light hearted and funny tale of young love, full of magical beings, mischief and mayhem and of course, the infamous Puck, will close out the season with laughter for the entire family. Welcome to our Season. Our 54th season
