Grab a partner or go solo to learn the official South Carolina State Dance with instructor Glenn Gordy!
Classes begin on Monday, June 8th and run through July 13, 2026. Classes start at 6:30pm and are 60 minutes long.

SUMMER BALLET
Discover the joy, strength, and artistry of ballet this summer at Ballet Spartanburg’s Center for Dance Education. Designed for adults of all experience levels, this class offers a welcoming and supportive environment to move, build strength, and connect with others, all while enjoying a beautiful, full body workout.
Classes are led by CFDE faculty and professional dancers, and focus on foundational ballet technique, terminology, and musicality at an approachable pace. Whether you are brand new or returning to the studio, this is the perfect opportunity to step into ballet.
Session 1 begins June 1 and runs through June 29, 2026. Session 2 begins July 6 and runs through July 27, 2026. Classes start at 7:00pm and are 60 minutes long.

BEER & BALLET
Where pliés meet pints.
Join us for a fun, relaxed ballet class designed for all levels—no experience (or tights) required. Start with a light warm-up and learn the basics of ballet in a supportive, judgment-free environment, then stick around to enjoy a well-earned beer with your fellow dancers.
This adult social is the perfect way to unwind, connect, and try something new in a laid-back, welcoming setting. Whether you’re a total beginner or just looking for a unique night out, Beer & Ballet is all about having fun and not taking yourself too seriously.
Dates & Time: June 29 & July 27 | 7:00–8:00 PM
Ages: 21+ (valid ID required)
Cost: $25 | $10 for those already enrolled in Summer Adult Ballet

Carlos Agudelo, 2023 SC Governor's Award for an Individual
Ballet Spartanburg's Artistic Director, Carlos Agudelo, was awarded the South Carolina Governor's Award from the South Carolina Arts Commission on May 23, 2023, at the Chapman Cultural Center. The award was presented by Mr. David Platt, Executive Director of the South Carolina Arts Commission. "We recognize the unparalleled energy, enthusiasm, devotion and love for dance that Carlos has gifted to our community out of his passion for all to experience the arts for the past 32 years. We are overjoyed that Carlos has been recognized by the South Carolina Arts Commission, " Teresa S. Berline, Executive Director. "The South Carolina Arts Commission is an extraordinary organization in our state which promotes and advocates opportunities in the arts which values equality, access, diversity and inclusion. Ballet Spartanburg is honored by the support of the South Carolina Arts Commission and the recognition of Carlos Agudelo."
