The Palmetto Basics

The Palmetto Basics are five fun, simple, and powerful ways to help children become the most successful they can be! The Basics are designed to help you realize all of the good things that you are doing in this role, and how to do it more. 

Below are five videos put together to help you interact with your child while learning about the Basics. These videos were inspired by a community supporting Early Childhood Development and created by Ballet Spartanburg's Artistic Director, Carlos Agudelo, to create arts inspired educational tools for all families to engage in early learning. Carlos also created educational storybooks with original illustrations for families to follow along while watching inspiring videos of Peter and the Wolf and Alice in Wonderland, both filmed in Spartanburg’s Hatcher Garden and Woodland Preserve. Mr. Agudelo choreographed and rehearsed playful dances for each of the 5 Basic elements with Ballet Spartanburg Company dancers at local landmarks such as Barnet Park, The Chapman Cultural Center and The Children’s Museum of the Upstate.
