Charlie Carrouth

Charlie Carrouth was born in Spartanburg. She has been a student at Ballet Spartanburg since 2007 and has performed in many ballets with them, such as The Nutcracker, Hansel and Gretel, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, An American in Paris, The Sleeping Beauty, Década, and The Great Gatsby. Charlie has trained at summer intensives at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and Charlotte Ballet, where she had the opportunity to train under the direction of choreographer Dwight Rhoden and Charlotte Ballet's new artistic director Hope Muir. This is Charlie's second year with The Company and her first year as an apprentice.

Ballet Spartanburg Receives 2018
Elizabeth O'Neill Verner Award

Ballet Spartanburg has received the 2018 Elizabeth O'Neill Verner Award. This award is given each year by the South Carolina Arts Commission to recognize exemplary artists and arts organizations for the State of South Carolina. “Each recipient of these Verner Awards is an outstanding ambassador for our state and contributes greatly not just to the arts community, but the overall quality of life.  As the Arts Commission nears completion of its 50th anniversary celebration, we are honored to recognize organizations and individuals who live out the service, commitment and passion that helped the arts here thrive throughout the last half century."
