An Evening with Carlos Agudelo: Join us for a beautiful evening highlighting ballets from our 2020 collaboration with the Hub City Writers Project. The evening will include champagne, chocolate, and toasts to the visionary excellence that Carlos Agudelo has shared through dance with our community and beyond. Don’t miss this evening as we say thank you to Carlos for 30 extraordinary years celebrating his love and passion for the art of dance.

  • We will begin our season in October with a family ballet for the “young at heart”, the magical and wonderful The Wizard of Oz
  • In December, we will collaborate with the Spartanburg Philharmonic to present our 30th Anniversary of The Nutcracker
  • February, we will present a one night only An Evening with Carlos Agudelo to celebrate his 30 years of passion in dance and to highlight our collaboration with the Hub City Writers Project. 
  • Get ready for Le Cabaret Rouge in our Studio Series production in March. Think macaroons, champagne and Paris. Le Cabaret Rouge is an added event and not part of the season. 
  • In April, we conclude our season with the whimsical and fun ballet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Ballet Spartanburg has received the 2018 Elizabeth O'Neill Verner Award. This award is given each year by the South Carolina Arts Commission to recognize exemplary artists and arts organizations for the State of South Carolina. “Each recipient of these Verner Awards is an outstanding ambassador for our state and contributes greatly not just to the arts community, but the overall quality of life.  As the Arts Commission nears completion of its 50th anniversary celebration, we are honored to recognize organizations and individuals who live out the service, commitment and passion that helped the arts here thrive throughout the last half century."
