The Snow Queen, a FROZEN Ballet, will delight theentire family. Based on Hans Christian Anderson’sclassic fairytale, The Snow Queen, follows a younggirl who saves her friend from a magic mirror and a wicked snow spirit. The ever so popular Disney’s FROZEN is loosely based on Anderson’s fairytale. With original choreography, dancing snowflakes, a FROZEN castle, all underscored by melodic, classical music,
this ballet will enchant audiences of all ages with its powerful story of loyalty, forever friendships and the purity of an innocent heart saving the day. Brrrrrr! Grab your coat and snow hat in October for this FROZEN adventure on stage

Ballet Spartanburg' s 2019/2020 performance season is exciting, new and filled with fun for everyone. In October, the season begins with The Snow Queen, a Frozen Adventure, will delight the entire family. The season swings right into Spartanburg's Christmas holiday family tradition The Nutcracker in December. In February, enjoy a one hour evening of dance in Ballet Spartanburg's studios with Embrace 2:14. The DanSynergy Series continues to explore collaborations with community artists. This season, The Write Moves will bring the art of the written word to the stage. In April, we present the last ballet of the season, A Midsummer's Night Dream. Shakespeare’s most famous, light hearted and funny tale of young love, is full of magical beings, mischief and mayhem.         A bold season. Ballet Spartanburg Receives 2018
Elizabeth O'Neill Verner Award

Ballet Spartanburg has received the 2018 Elizabeth O'Neill Verner Award. This award is given each year by the South Carolina Arts Commission to recognize exemplary artists and arts organizations for the State of South Carolina. “Each recipient of these Verner Awards is an outstanding ambassador for our state and contributes greatly not just to the arts community, but the overall quality of life.  As the Arts Commission nears completion of its 50th anniversary celebration, we are honored to recognize organizations and individuals who live out the service, commitment and passion that helped the arts here thrive throughout the last half century." S.C. Arts Commission Chairman Henry Horowitz.
