Ballet Spartanburg' s 2018/2019 performance season is exciting, new and filled with fun for everyone. In October, the season begins with Beauty and the Beast, a tale as old as time and a beautiful story where true love overcomes obstacles. The season swings right into Spartanburg's Christmas holiday family tradition The Nutcracker in December. In February, the romantic comedy and fun family ballet Coppelia, full of magic, craziness and mayhem will hit the stage. #collectiveworks: Breaking Boundaries with Contemporary Ballet, showcases three masterworks which are part of The Johnson Collection, owned by Susu and George Dean Johnson, Jr., all underscored by the Spartanburg High School Chamber Orchestra music follows in March. The Johnson Collection retains over 1,000 masterworks which reflect and capture the brilliantly diverse and rich cultures of our Southern regions. In April, we present the last ballet of the season, Studio Series: Director’s Choice. Presenting four new pieces in the studio setting provides an intimate insight into contemporary ballet, all while enjoying champagne and sweets. A bold season. A fun season. #experiencetheseason
