SPARTANBURG, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - A six-year-old girl battling a critical illness had her wish granted to be a ballerina. Adaleigh was born with half a heart and suffers from congenital heart failure. She has had three open heart surgeries since her birth. It was Adaleigh’s special wish to be a ballet dancer and dance with other professional ballet dancers on the Chapman Cultural Center's stage. She also wanted a unicorn - and all things pink: pink cupcakes, pink balloons and pink tutus.
Make-A-Wish South Carolina, with the help of Ballet Spartanburg, hosted a special event to grant her wish. Adaleigh performed three dances with Ballet Spartanburg, and she and her sister were given a lifetime offer of free ballet lessons. Clear here to watch the news video.
