SOLOMON FISHMAN was born in Boston, Massachusetts and began his ballet training in Washington State under the direction of Vera Altunina. He continued his training at Pacific Northwest Ballet School before joining Ballet West Academy’s Professional Training Division and Trainee Program in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Solomon completed his training at the prestigious Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia, graduating in 2024 under the instruction of Fethon Miozzi. Upon graduation, he was selected by Yuri Fateev to join the Mariinsky Ballet, where he performed a wide range of classical repertoire including Raymonda, La Sylphide, Don Quixote, Spartacus, Romeo and Juliet, Giselle, Le Corsaire, Onegin and The Nutcracker.
His training repertoire includes leading roles in Coppélia, Raymonda, Western Symphony, Who Cares?, Don Quixote, Le Corsaire, The Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake and Napoli. Solomon represented Ballet West Academy at Youth America Grand Prix and was selected as a finalist in both 2021 and 2022. In 2022, he earned First Place in Pas de Deux at the Utah Semi-Finals.
Solomon has attended summer programs on scholarship at the School of American Ballet, Miami City Ballet School, Ballet West Academy and Pacific Northwest Ballet School. He joins Ballet Spartanburg as a Principal Dancer for the 2026–2027 season.
Ballet Spartanburg's Artistic Director, Carlos Agudelo, was awarded the South Carolina Governor's Award from the South Carolina Arts Commission on May 23, 2023, at the Chapman Cultural Center. The award was presented by Mr. David Platt, Executive Director of the South Carolina Arts Commission. "We recognize the unparalleled energy, enthusiasm, devotion and love for dance that Carlos has gifted to our community out of his passion for all to experience the arts for the past 32 years. We are overjoyed that Carlos has been recognized by the South Carolina Arts Commission, " Teresa S. Berline, Executive Director. "The South Carolina Arts Commission is an extraordinary organization in our state which promotes and advocates opportunities in the arts which values equality, access, diversity and inclusion.
