Issac Martinez Losada

Isaac Martinez began his training at the Hartt School in Connecticut. He trained rigorously with faculty from Cuban National Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Royal Danish Ballet, Martha Graham Company, and José Limón Dance Company. In 2015, Isaac transferred to The University of Oklahoma to finish his degree in Ballet Pedagogy. His repertoire includes works from Don Quixote, Swan Lake, La Bayadere, The Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, The Firebird, in addition to original roles in works by faculty, students, and choreographers around the world. Isaac has choreographed and produced works of his own, showcased in university productions as well as dance festivals. He is looking forward to his second year with The Company.

Elizabeth O'Neill Verner Award

Ballet Spartanburg has received the 2018 Elizabeth O'Neill Verner Award. This award is given each year by the South Carolina Arts Commission to recognize exemplary artists and arts organizations for the State of South Carolina. “Each recipient of these Verner Awards is an outstanding ambassador for our state and contributes greatly not just to the arts community, but the overall quality of life.  As the Arts Commission nears completion of its 50th anniversary celebration, we are honored to recognize organizations and individuals who live out the service, commitment and passion that helped the arts here thrive throughout the last half century."
