Dance your way through summertime with us! Our Center for Dance Education offers a variety of summer camps and workshops for all ages and abilities. A complete list of camps and workshops are listed below.

To register online "Click to Register Online" button below. You will be redirected to a Google Form, and complete your camper's information. Once you submit your Google Form you will need to return to this page and click the "Summer Camp Payment" button to pay. You will be redirected to our PayPal page and type your total camp(s) payment into "donation" box and submit.

You may also print a summer registration form and return it to our office.

Let’s Create and Let’s Dance

Ages 3-4  Session 1: June 5-June 9   10:00-10:50   $75.00

Ages 3-4  Session 2: July 17-July 21  10:00-10:50   $75.00

Ages 3-4  Session 3: July 31-August 4  10:00-10:50  $75.00

This ballet based creative class combines stories and music in a child friendly setting which helps students develop body awareness, rhythm, flexibility, coordination, confidence, socializing and sharing and of course, meeting new friends! This camp is a wonderful introduction to our school year program. *girls wear leotard and ballet slippers/boys wear bike shorts, white t-shirt and ballet slippers 

 

 

Beauty and the Beast camp

Ages 5-9  June 12-June 16  10:00-12:00   $150.00

Be Our Guest! Calling all Princes and Belles to Ballet Spartanburg! Join us for and enchanting week of ballet class and the cutest teacups, crafts and more inspired by the tale as old as time.... Beauty and The Beast! On Friday, dance in our ballet ballroom to show parents their dancer’s enchanting dance skills. *girls wear leotard and ballet slippers/boys wear bike shorts, white t-shirt and ballet slippers. and bring a snack

 

Enchanted Camp

Ages 5-9  June 19-June 23  10:00-12:00   $150.00

We all know the movie ENCHANTED! Now join us as we create our own version of ENCHANTMENT. Princess Jasmine, Tatiana and Cinderella will join Prince Charming and Oberon as we learn how a prince and princess must twirl, leap, and dance. On Friday, our prince and princes will show their parents some of the most enchanting moves they have ever seen. *girls wear leotard and ballet slippers/boys wear bike shorts, white t-shirt and ballet slippers and bring a snack

 

The Swan Queen Camp

Ages 5-9   June 26-June 30  10:00-12:00  $150.00

Odette, under a magic spell, spends her days swimming in a lake of tears and her nights as a human. This camp will consist of ballet class learning beautiful fluid movement combined with acting. Campers will also create swan headpieces and crafts. The students will practice proper swan arms from the original choreography of Petipa/Ivanov under the direction of former professional ballerina, Analay Saiz. On Friday, the dancers will dance seamlessly on the ballet floor as they show off their delicate arms and moves. *wear leotard, ballet slippers and bring a snack  

 

Encanto Camp
Ages 4-8   July 10-July 14   10:00-12:00   $150.00

Hola Amigos! Immerse yourself into the world of Encanto with Analay Saiz! Each day will consist of a ballet class as they follow the adventures of Maribel and discover they too are more than just their talents! On Friday, join us as the dancers show off their colorful dance skills. *wear leotard, ballet slippers and bring a snack

 

The Sleeping Beauty Camp
Ages 5-9   July 10-July 14   1:00-3:00   $150.00

What do a cat, a bird and a princess all have in common? They are in ballet version of The Sleeping Beauty, of course!  Princess Aurora, Puss and Boots and the Bluebird will be introduced to our campers through music, acting, and dance. The students will expand their French vocabulary ( Oui Oui), participate in ballet class and create the most adorable kitty cat, and more crafts you have ever seen in Sleeping Beauty Land.  
On Friday, all will “wake up” and show parents their creative and funny ballet skills! *Girls wear leotard, tights and slippers; boys wear black short, white t-shirt and slippers and bring a snack 

 

The Little Mermaid Camp
Ages 5-9   July 24-July 28   10:00-12:00   $150.00

Spend the week discovering how fun a dance class is with all things Ariel and Under the Sea! Each day will consist of a ballet class and underwater and mermaid crafts! You will even dance to your favorite songs from The Little Mermaid! On the last day at 11:45, there will be a short showcase for parents. *wear ballet slippers, leotard and bring a snack 

 

 

Magical Fairy Camp
Ages 5-9   July 24-July 28   1:00-3:00   $150.00

The Magical Fairy Camp combines the love of ballet with the magical world of your favorite fairies! Each day consists of ballet, sparkles and fairy crafts! You will make fairy wands, fairy bottles and magical headpieces. This is the perfect time for new friendships to blossom. On Friday, all fairies will place their parents under magical spells as their show off their sparkling ballet skills. *wear ballet slippers, leotard and bring a snack 

En Pointe Fencing Class
Ages 7 and above   July 17-July 21   11:00-12:00   $75.00

En Garde! All fencing students take position for the second summer of sharp fencing skills led by instructor Will Scott. Move and groove with a few of the basic fencing stances used in famous ballets and plays such as Romeo and Juliet and The Nutcracker! Taught by the sharpest fencer we know, Mr. Will Scott! *wear t-shirt, socks, shorts, or ballet slippers 

Boys’ Ballet Class/Excerpts from Peter & the Wolf
Ages 7 and above   July 17-July 21   10:00-11:00   $75.00

Bringing to life Prokofiev’s classic symphonic fairytale, the young students will learn the choreography to this beloved fairytale. They will re-enact the story as Peter and as The Wolf! This class is taught by the boy’s favorite instructor, Will Scott. *wear class uniform

Irish Dance

Have you tried Irish Dance? Fast and Fun!!! Our Irish Camp is always LUCKY because it is taught by Pam Pierce, who brings over 25 years of Irish teaching experience to our Irish Step students. Join us for a week of amazing instruction as you learn the traditional dances of Ireland. On the last day at 11:45, there will be a HIGH ENERGY short showcase for parents. *wear t-shirt, socks, shorts, ballet slippers or Irish Dance Shoes

Carlos Agudelo, 2023 SC Governor's Award for an Individual

Ballet Spartanburg's Artistic Director, Carlos Agudelo, was awarded the South Carolina Governor's Award from the South Carolina Arts Commission on May 23, 2023, at the Chapman Cultural Center. The award was presented by Mr. David Platt, Executive Director of the South Carolina Arts Commission. "We recognize the unparalleled energy, enthusiasm, devotion and love for dance that Carlos has gifted to our community out of his passion for all to experience the arts for the past 32 years. We are overjoyed that Carlos has been recognized by the South Carolina Arts Commission, " Teresa S. Berline, Executive Director. "The South Carolina Arts Commission is an extraordinary organization in our state which promotes and advocates opportunities in the arts which values equality, access, diversity and inclusion. Ballet Spartanburg is honored by the support of the South Carolina Arts Commission and the recognition of Carlos Agudelo."
